Fumbled Hearts

My goal was to start this year off with a new book review. Last night while my boyfriend played Xbox with his buddies, I had one main goal, and that was to finish the book I had started the other day. I had huge plans to read, read, read while I was on Christmas break from work, and that did not happen. But I did finish this book like I planned, and I was not disappointed.

My latest read was Fumbled Hearts by Meagan Brandy

"I’m not a clumsy guy, but this girl’s got me trippin’ over myself in every which way and she doesn’t even know it."

I really enjoyed this story. The chemistry between Kelani & Nate was off the charts. The side characters were just as enjoyable. (Well most of them..not naming any names here LIV and JARROD..man those were some awful awful people)

Kelani was an amazing character. She was a badass, didn't give a crap what anyone thought of her, and always did what she said she was going to be. Hell, I'm 32 years old and I wish I could be more like Kelani. She had been through a really rough time, and to watch her finally open up to someone was fantastic. She grew up so much in that short span of time, and I really enjoyed watching her see what it was like to actually feel something. That was something she had tried really hard not to do in the past, so when she found herself actually falling in love and caring about people it was like a breath of fresh air.

“She was made for you, Nathaniel. The other piece of your soul. She came to you, was given to you, when you were ready for her, when you needed her.

I really enjoyed Nate. I do have a soft spot for the douche dude, turned good guy though. There towards the end I felt like I was going to be sick and my heart was falling out of my chest, because it seemed like he had done the unthinkable. He is still my guy though. What a great book boyfriend. He loved Kelani so much, and for someone who hadn't really ever had that person he wasn't afraid to let everyone know how he felt when he did, I liked that about him. He probably had the most growth throughout the book, but he needed someone to come along and straighten him out.

“I want you. All of you. Every stubborn and determined inch of you. I think you want me the same way.”

I feel like I should definitely mention this book is HOT, HOT, HOT. Kelani made him work for it, and when they finally couldn't take the sexual tension anymore..(which by the way, they lasted a lot longer than I did.) they lit the book on FIRE. So if you like some steaminess in your reading this is definitely a good choice.

The side characters were pretty great in their own right. I really enjoyed Mia. She was loyal to Kelani, even when Kelani didn't seem like she wanted to let her get to close. I thought Austin added a great bit of humor to the story, and I still think he and Mia are perfect for each other, I'm still holding out hope that something happens there. Parker was a great best friend for Kelani, I'm sad that it's obvious he loves her, he deserves someone, and i'm curious what his story is, so I was pleasantly surprised that I can find that out in book two since I'm a little late to the game here. And Nate's parents were great!

As if I would let her fall.

Sometimes I get a little bit of crap from people thinking I rate books to high, or give up too many 4 and 5 star reviews, but I just go with what i'm feeling. I can't help it that I keep finding all these gems to read!

Obviously, Fumbled Hearts is getting a 5 STAR review from me. I loved every bit of this book. There wasn't any point that I felt like it was being drug out, I didn't feel as if I needed more from the end. It had all the perfect amounts of sexual tension, angst, drama, and just feel good love. This was just a hands down pretty great read.

I have big plans for the blog in 2019, I'm hoping to see it grow, and I'm hoping to read a lot more this year than I did last year. I'm starting from the bottom here, but I've got high hopes!
