Work In Progress

This book was a feel good book. It had a little bit of angst and a lot of romance! It was a nice change considering the last one was so heavy. I like to change it up, because sometimes a book really can just make you feel so much that you carry it with you for a while.

I’m a fan of Staci Hart. This is not the first book of hers I’ve read, and it won’t be the last. She is an excellent writer, and she has a way of pulling you in and keeping you hooked until the very end.

This story was about a blogger named Amelia. She is sent to a book signing for a pretty intimidating author, Thomas Bane. He knows who she is because she is one of the only bloggers that gives him 3 star ratings! Tommy has a bit of a reputation and in order to get on the good side of his editor he asks Amelia to marry him to clean up his image. She agrees and quickly realizes he is more than meets the eye. They fall in love hard and fast and it’s a cute fun read!

If I’d ever passed Amelia Hall on the street, she wouldn’t have caught my attention. But that was the thing about girls like her. Once you saw them, there was no unseeing them.”

I loved Amelia. She reminded me so much of myself. She was shy and a lover of books. Great at online communication, but not so great in person. Ultimately she wants to marry Tommy because he has promised to help her come out of her shell. What she doesn’t expect is to fall in love.

Tommy Bane was a fantastic book boyfriend. He seemed like he was a little rough around the edges, but actually he wasn’t. He was loyal, caring, and loved his family- and Amelia fiercely. He was a protector and he took such good care of her, it was definitely swoon worthy.

So much makes sense now that I have her. You hear men say they want to be a better man because of love. They say they’ve found purpose. She’s become my whole world, Theo. I could mark my life by who I was before and after her.”

I loved every supporting character. (Aside from a couple, but you will understand who and why pretty quickly.) Amelia’s friends were amazing. She had the kind of friends that girls wish they had. I loved the scenes of them all together. They were so tight knit. Tommy’s brother was just as swoon worthy as Tommy and his mom was adorable.

There wasn’t much not to love about this book, so I’m giving this one a 4 STAR review. Literally the ONLY thing keeping me from 5 stars was that it was pretty much an insta-love and sometimes I have a hard time getting on board with that. I see why it was needed in this book and it did make sense, it’s just not my favorite.  This is definitely worthy of a read! And I can’t wait for the next one!
