She will paint you a picture, no matter what the scenario, and make you feel like your right there. And not only is she an amazing writer, she is also an amazing person. I've been a part of her Facebook group for a couple years now and she is everything. She engages so much. She leaves personalized birthday messages for her readers every.single.day. "Wes laughs, and the vision is so beautiful that I feel like I'm looking into the sun. I take a picture of him- with my mind, the way he looks right now- back lit by an orange sky, white teeth glowing in his crescent smile, and a lock of brown hair grazing his perfect cheekbone. I want to remember this moment forever. Even if forever is only for tonight."
I think what I loved most about this is that it wasn't your typical romance story. You had all the mystery and suspense surrounding the impending apocoloypse, but you also had these two characters who were strangers that had to depend and trust each other to survive. A span of only a couple days seemed like months. BB did a fantastic job describing everything around them, and everything that was happening in the world. It felt like I was right there in the story. Don't worry even though there is mystery and suspense, BB still delivers on the steaminess. It's not overwhelming, but I felt like it was important to the book, after all, if you only had days to live and you found someone that could potentially be important to you wouldn't you want to spend your last couple days being with them in every way possible?
"Because that's all we are. Something to be savored before it disappears."
This is a BB book, so obviously it's getting a 5 STAR review. I have discovered that BB can do no wrong. Her writing is amazing and I felt like I was right there in the middle of it all with Wes and Rain. I can't wait to see what BB does next, she is seriously the best.

"None of this matters, and we're all going to die." With only three days left until the predicted apocalypse, the small town of Franklin Springs, Georgia, has become a wasteland of abandoned cars, abandoned homes, abandoned businesses, and abandoned people. People like Rainbow Williams. Rain isn't afraid of dying, in fact, she's looking forward to it. If she can just outrun her pain until April 23, she'll never have to feel it at all. Wes Parker has survived every horrible thing this life has thrown at him with nothing more than his resourcefulness and disarming good looks. Why should the end of the world be any different? All he needs are some basic supplies, shelter, and a sucker willing to help him out, which is exactly what he finds when he returns to his hometown of Franklin Springs. As society crumbles, dangers mount, and secrets refuse to stay buried, two lost souls are thrust together in a twist of fate--one who will do anything to survive and one who can't wait to die. Perhaps, together, they can learn how to live. Before their time runs out."
The story starts with Rain having a nightmare, everyone in the world has been having similar nightmares about how the end of the world is coming on April 23rd. You quickly find out that Rain is ready to die, in face she is looking forward to it. At first your not real sure what has happened that has made her so accepting, but you do find out as the story goes on. (No spoilers in this review!) She first meets Wes while she's out trying to find something to eat. At first his intentions are to use her for whatever he can and then get rid of her, instead they form a bond with one another. I don't want to go into to many details, because I don't want to spoil anything. But this is an apocalyptic romance, and if your not sure if you will like a book like that, trust me, you will.
"How do I answer this without sounding crazier than he already suspects that I am? Because I think I might be in love with you? Because, before I met you, I hadn't smiled in almost a month? Because I don't want to lose you? Because you're my only reason for living."
I loved Rain. You could tell she was a bad ass, and a fighter, but something in her life had happened, besides the obvious, that had left her defeated. She was this fiercely protective and loyal person, even to Wes who she had just met. She saw something in him that made her want to help him, save him. She was very smart, and I could tell that while she truly was ready to die, there maybe was a little part of her that had just been looking for something else to live for. "I want to help. Even if, right now, the only person I can help is myself."
"The only thing that matters, is that if I die tomorrow-and I very well might- it will be with a smile on my face, and Wesson Patrick Parker by my side."
Wes was everything. He is definitely going into my list of top 10 book boyfriends. He was a true survivor. He had been through so much in his life, and he was hell bent on surviving whatever was coming their way, because he wasn't going to let anyone win when it came to his life. He wanted to make his own terms. He didn't have time for someone like Rain, he was afraid she would ruin everything he had worked so hard for, but instead I think she helped him find his true self. And when he was finally able to see that for himself his character really grew within the story. "I've finally found what I've been missing my whole life, and if I keep it, it will kill me. No wonder Rain was wearing a black hoodie when I met her. She's the fifth fucking horseman of the apocalypse."

"I thought April twenty-fourth was going to be a new beginning.
Turns out, it's just the beginning of the end."
