Old Fashioned

"But, isn't that the risk we take with everything? If all we did was play it safe...would that really be living at all?"

The epic finale of the Becker Brothers series. Each book can be read as a stand-alone.

It’s a man’s world.

When I declared sports medicine as my major and every man narrowed their eyes, that saying proved true. It was true when my ex-husband decided I’d give up my career when our daughter was born. And again when I divorced the Chief of Police in our small town, and he made it painfully clear that I could leave him, but I would never be free.

Landing the job as the new athletic trainer for Stratford’s high school team is my chance to start over. And walking into a male-dominated sport and staff, I’m ready for the challenge.

I’m not ready for Jordan Becker.

The head coach of our championship winning team is a Herculean force of nature—as severe as he is determined. His icy blue eyes and permanent scowl drive the women in this town mad, and his quiet power and undeniable command conjure respect from every man.

When I join his team, I expect the doubt and anticipate the fight from him. And I get them both.

don’t expect to form a friendship.

And I never expect to fall for him.

My breath catches when those cool eyes fall to my lips. My body comes alive when his is near. And as those lines begin to blur, every warning bell sounds.

My job, my reputation are on the line.
And my ex is around every corner, waiting to remind me of his power.

It’s a man’s world, and if I want to survive, I can never fall in love with Jordan Becker.

Even if he falls in love with me first.

I received an ARC of Old Fashioned from the author for my honest review. Old Fashioned is the final book in a stand alone series, but you should really read about ALL of the Becker brothers, because they are life.

I've read so many books from so many authors, but Kandi Steiner is definitely one of my all time favorites. She has the greatest reader group on Facebook, she's so interactive on Instagram, and she even has an Instagram series specifically for helping authors. She is seriously the best.

I wasn't hungover from the whiskey. I was hungover from her kiss.

I was really excited to read this book. I've been loving everything about the Becker brothers, and Jordan was the one I was most curious about. He doesn't have the presence that the other brothers do, so he doesn't automatically jump out at you while your reading the other books, which made him intriguing to me. He was the strong and silent type. He was passionate about football and family, and up until he met Sydney and Paige, he didn't really think he needed anything else in his life. My favorite thing about Jordan was that he had values, and he wasn't afraid to stick to them. He was a family man through and through.

Everything that had been dead inside me came to life when Jordan Becker's mouth claimed mine.

Sydney is one of my favorite female characters to date. She was unbelievable strong, and a fantastic mother. She did anything and everything for her daughter Paige, and put her well-being and happiness above anything else. She was so selfless, and even when her life was falling apart around her she stood strong and was a great role model for her daughter. She thought she was weak, and she couldn't have been more wrong. I applaud Kandi for writing such a fierce leading lady.

I say this every time, but I love small town romances, because the supporting characters are always such a key part to the story. I loved all the interactions between the brothers and their mom, their girlfriends, and some other members of the town.

I loved these books so much, and it's so bittersweet that they have came to an end. Each brother had such a fantastic story, and I loved the mystery that weaved in and out throughout all the books. Kandi did a superb job of keeping you interested, but then also leaving you satisfied with the ending.

Old Fashioned gets 5 STARS from me. The whole Becker brother series gets 5 STARS. Kandi did so fantastic with this series, and while i'm sad to see it end, I'm also happy with how it all panned out.

In that moment, I felt it- our hearts fusing together, our souls opening the door to each other's, finding room, making it home.
