I've never read a book by Hazel James before. I'm honestly not even sure how I stumbled upon this one, but I'm glad I did. At first, I wasn't sure how I felt, I was worried this was going to be another bust for me, but I'm glad I found it, and I'm glad I read it. The story ended up being beautiful. Aside from a few misses for me, this was a great read. "Paige Landry I finally made it. I graduated nursing school, and I found the perfect job. Things were great until a tornado blew through the emergency room, turning my life upside down. I don't know if I can ever go back to the way things were before. Tornado survivors have a choice to rebuild, or pack up and move away. I'm twenty-two, and I know that one day I want the American dream: a husband, 2.5 kids, and a white picket fence. But that's the thing with rebuilding. What happens when the next tornado hits? Will I be blown away again? DH Roads Adrenaline. It's fueled me since I was thi

The Locker Room

If someone were to ask me to make a list of my top 5 favorite authors, Meghan Quinn would definitely make that list. Her books always make me feel so good. They make me laugh, they have a little bit of heat, and I love the banter between the characters. Her newest release was no different, I was hooked right from the start. "Have you heard the rumor around campus about the locker room? If you haven't, let me enlighten you: Legend has it if you bring a girl into the sacred after-game domain of the baseball locker room, it will end with a walk down the aisle. One rowdy and naked encounter against the lockers with the girl of your dreams will make her your wife. Translation: baseball players are stupidly superstitious and believe the locker room has magical powers. But not all baseball players are superstitious, me included. So when the girl I've fallen for brushes me off, I start to question if I need to switch my way of thinking. Maybe it's time I finally hand o

Violent Ends

I know what your thinking. In my last review I said I wouldn’t be writing anymore until I was back from vacation, and here I am. I couldn’t help myself. I’ve been waiting on Jessica Hawkins to release book 2 in this series and I couldn’t wait to start on it. Once I started, I couldn’t put it down. A romance book with suspense and mystery just hooks me in so quick! This is book 2 in a 3 book series, my review for book 1 can be found here  https://njpennybookreviews.blogspot.com/2019/03/violent-delights.html?m=1  and book 3 is set to release in November.  "Because you're no longer someone's sweet, pure, naïve princesa. You don't live in the ivory tower anymore. You own it. You're going to learn to rule from it, because that's what it means to be Calavera royalty." "I had a life, love, and future to give. Until my enemy took a wife. The devil has a name, and it's Cristiano de la Rosa. On my wedding day, he was the last man I expected to see

I THINK this will be my last review for at least a week! We are leaving for vacation this Thursday, and while I'm sure I'll be reading, I don't plan to write any reviews until I get back! But there was a book I preordered months ago that hit my kindle last night, and there is obviously a good chance I could finish it before we leave.  "Stephen Hastings is a control freak. He's arrogant. He's smart as a whip and sexy AF. He has too much money. He's bossy, and he's usually right. All I saw were his clear blue eyes, tight butt, and ripped torso. I gladly handed him my V-card that night, ten years ago. I was so stupid. I swore I'd never be that stupid again. Emmy Barton works for a dry cleaner? Yes, that Emmy Barton- long, blond hair, bright blue eyes, pretty smile..sexy little body. Smart mouth. She was the only girl who interested me, but I was leaving to be an officer in the Navy. Now i'm home, running my business. My life is perfectly or

The Marriage Effect (Washington Wolves, #3)

I was hesitant to start this one. A lot of times when I see a book getting so much love online it feels like I don't enjoy it as much as everyone else did, but that was definitely not the case with this one. I loved it! This was my first book by Karla Sorensen, and I didn't realize that it was part of a series until I had already started it. It's not your typical series though, these do not have to be read in order, but it helps you get to know the characters better. I definitely plan to go back and read the books before this one though! "Logan Ward doesn't want any more women in his life. Being a football player and legal guardian to his four younger sisters means his playbook is full. However, one of them just landed in the hospital, which gives his brother the shot he needs to challenge Logan for custody. Legal counsel says there's only one thing Logan can do- find himself a wife. Paige McKinney doesn't always think things through. Like walking aw

A Pizza My Heart

Oh, I just love a good Teagan Hunter book. Her sassy, comedic, and steamy writing always makes for the perfect combination in a book. This past year I have fallen in love with the Romantic Comedy book, and she played a HUGE part in that when I stumbled upon her Texting series. <--Go run and check those out..seriously, laugh out loud funny, and you can't put them down! A Pizza My Heart was no different, it was another great Teagan Hunter read. This book releases on JUNE 20TH and it comes HIGHLY recommended by me! So make sure you get yourself a copy! "Most people would probably be embarrassed to land themselves back in their hometown and working at a pizzeria after an ugly divorce. Not me. It's home, and I have one last shot to make Wren Daniels see me as more than just her brother's best friend. When the opportunity to show her what's been right in front of her this whole time presents itself, I take it, holding nothing back this time. Wren thinks we&#

Under A Different Sky

I received an ARC for this book from the author. I have been waiting for this one for what feels like FOREVER . Lindsey is the best. She has honestly been a really truly great friend to me. She has helped me with writing my own book, and she is so interactive with her crazy readers, she makes you feel more like a friend, and less like a crazy author stalker.  "My life is a mess. I'm walking around with a black eye. My position on the hockey team is questionable at best, and if that's not bad enough, I think I'm falling for my dead girlfriend's best friend. Every day, it's a  fight to feel alive, and yet, I drink to numb the pain. Everyone is standing back, watching me fall apart. Everyone except Hannah. No matter how many times I push, she's there to pull me back. She refuses to let me spiral any deeper. And after one kiss- she's impossible to ignore. Unfortunately, it seems she and I aren't the only thing being kept a secret."

Kandi Steiner is everything. Her books are everything. Her writing is everything. She knows how to paint a picture and make you feel like you have been dropped into a book right next to these characters, she makes it feel like they are your friends. When you dive into one of her books you don't even want to come out for air.  I received an ARC for this book, and I am so so grateful for that. I would have read it anyway, but to get it early is special, and it was everything I hoped it would be and more. Releasing June 13th!!! "Noah Becker is nothing but trouble. That's what Mama told me when I was a kid, kicking his pew in church and giggling at the games we'd play. It's what the town said when his father died and the Becker brothers went wild. And it's on repeat in my mind the day I walk into the whiskey distillery where he workds to buy a wedding gift for my fiance. He's trouble. Dirty, sweaty, rude trouble. No matter how many times I repeat it,
