My Top Series/Duets of 2019

I had to make a whole blog post dedicated to the fantastic Series/Duets that I read this year. I'm not going to lie, I usually try to stay away from a book that has more than one read because I don't want to be committed to a series and then have to wait for the next piece to come out. These authors drew me in this year, they put out some fantastic work, and I actually didn't mind waiting, I anticipated it. They deserved a whole blog post dedicated to the fantastic work they put out this year! And if you love a good duet, or you love a good series, these are definitely the way to go! And I should also note, every one of these is fully released now, so you won't even have to wait like I did!  Just like my last post of my favorite reads of the year, these are in no particular order.  Brayshaw High Series by Meagan Brandy White Monarch Series by Jessica Hawkins Landon & Shay by Brittainy C. Cherry Hand Over My Heart Duet by Lindsey Iler  Pierced He

Holy cow, this was much harder than I anticipated. I read SO many good books this year, so many. I combed through my blog, re-read my reviews, wrote out my top 20, then narrowed it down to a top 10. I prayed to God that I wouldn't completely shatter my heart in an attempt to keep that boy in my life.  Everyone knows not to fall in love with your best friend. But when your best friend is Michael Becker, it's impossible not to. He's everything our town knows a Becker brother to be: devastatingly handsome, charming as a thief, and the icing on the cake- a sentimental musician who's never without his guitar. And he was mine. At least, that's what I'd convinced myself. Our bond was born in elementary school, strengthened by circumstances and the promise to always be there for each other, no matter what. And the best thing about my life was being friends with Michael Becker. Until it was the worst. I watched him fall in love with someone else, and helped patch him back up when she left him behind. But when he drops the bomb that he's moving to New York, I realize it's my last chance to tell him how I feel. And I ask him to make one more promise.

"Like I knew from the second his lips touched mine that he was about to ruin me. Ruined. I'm going to be ruined for life." They say there's no such thing as perfect. But I've built my life to perfection- the perfect boyfriend, the perfect apartment, the perfect career planning celebrity weddings. My job- my only job- is to make sure every event is absolutely and completely perfect. What's not perfect? Kash Bennet. And I wish I didn't find that so appealing. I could have told you every perfectly imperfect thing about the gardener at Longbourne. Like his hair, lush and black and far too long. Or his nose, the flat bridge of a Greek god, bent a little like it's been broken. Or his size. Beastly. Roped and corded with muscles, beaming with sweat and peppered with dirt. There's no escaping him, not if I'm going to use his family's flower shop for my events. But my perfect life is turned inside out. They say the best way to get over so

Landon & Shay pt. 2

We were messy, and broken, and complex, and beautiful.  Once upon a time, I fell in love with a boy. A beautiful, broken boy who had his own world of struggles. People warned me against our love, but I didn't listen. We looked weak, young, and foolish. Dangerously in love. We didn't care. In order to keep our hearts protected from the opinions of others, we became each other's secret. We shared stolen moments. Tender touches. Secretive embraces. It was our twisted love story, and it worked for us up until our lives changed forever. The boy I loved became Hollywood's newest golden boy. His career blossomed as mine stalled. He found massive success as I discovered multiple failures. He made something of himself, while my dreams never came true. We moved into different realms where our pieces no longer fit together. In the fairy tales, love conquered all. In reality, love was the main reason empires began to fall. I always knew Landon belonged in my story. He was
