NEW RELEASE and EXCERPT of One Short Summer by Jasmin Miller

Image
BLURB A sweet, flirty, and heartfelt romance with two roommates that spend one enthralling summer together. After her car accident, Monica believes her dance career is over, despite the positive outlook everyone else has. Instead of trying to get back on her feet, she works on perfecting the art of couch surfing. Famous author, Gabe Mitchell, doesn’t fare much better. On top of watching his roommate letting her life pass by, he also suffers from a major bout of writer’s block. Hoping a change of scenery will get them both out of their rut, Gabe takes matters into his own hands and whisks Monica away to his own personal haven. What neither one of them expects is the attraction to each other to bloom even though Monica will leave Brooksville in a matter of weeks. Their time together is filled with skimpy bathing suits, sexy fantasy book inspirations, hot tub make-out sessions, and new job prospects. It’s plenty to reignite their creative flames, but will it be eno

Defying Gravity

Image
After reading the prequel to this book, Falling From Gravity , this book was everything I hoped it would be. The heart, angst, heat, and love was all still there only multiplied by 1000. I received an ARC of Defying Gravity from the author, and it releases TOMORROW July 25th!!  "Our greatest risk was the one we never took … It was an accidental spring fling three years ago—one week spent in the mountains of Big Sur and no one was the wiser. Ignore the fact that Tobias James was my neighbor and my best friend’s older brother. Or that upon our return his hoop dreams were waiting for him, robbing us of any potential future we could have shared. Now, I’m fulfilling my own dreams in L.A. and my biggest dream of all is about to come true. The last thing I expected was for my past and my present to collide. Not now. Not here. Not him. But he struts back into my life like he never even left. Unfortunately, I’ll never forget what happened after he did. The ball is in my court, but T

Falling From Gravity (Prequel to Defying Gravity)

Falling From Gravity is a prequel to K.K. Allen's book Defying Gravity, which is set to release on July 25th! Falling is currently available on Amazon for FREE right now, so I highly recommend grabbing that one before the 25th! This prequel just showed me how amazing Defying is going to be, and I CAN'T WAIT! "If I hadn't considered Amelia dangerous before, I certainly did now. She wasn't anything like I had expected. Even after all these years-of living so close to her, of listening to her giggle with my sister in the bedroom next to me- I hadn't given much thought to my sister's best friend.  But in the span of one week, everything had changed. Everything." *Falling From Gravity is a standalone short story and also the prequel to Defying Gravity (releasing on July 25th!)* I really enjoyed this sneak peek into Tobias and Amelia's story. It was written so well, it only has me more excited to read their book! I liked that we got t

Can't Text This

Surprise, Surprise..I like yet another Teagan Hunter book. The texting series has been out for a while, I'm late to the game, as usual, but I just adore these books. This one was book 3 in the series..you can find my reviews for the first two here on my blog. These books are so fun to read, they are a little bit steamy and very funny. I love the way Teagan writes.  "Hi Monty. Wanna see my python?" That's how I ended up in the bathroom of some dive bar with a stranger. Me, Monty Andrews, the quintessential virgin girl next door. I was so out of my element, but there was no denying our explosive attraction, even via text. Commence operation Bang Each Other Out of Our Systems, because that was all it was- unfinished business. I had no intention of falling back into the sheets with the tattooed, muscly, dirty-in-the-best-kind-of-way single dad over and over again...but I did. Everything was going great- until we discovered I was his son's teacher." "

I usually wait a few books between authors, even when I'm reading a series, I don't like to be burnt out. I read book one in the Dogwood Lane series just the other day, and I loved the story and the town so much I couldn't wait to dive back in. These are stand alone romances, but it's always better if you read the whole series so you can keep up with your favorite characters.  "That cream filled, caramel-topped doughnut should have been hers. Still, Haley Raynor can't deny that the pastry thief with the dreamy blue eyes looks even more delicious. But moving in on a handsome devil like Trevor Kelly is bad news for a die-hard romantic like Haley. Trevor doesn't believe in love. She does. Giving in to a fling and Trevor's irresistible charms can't end well. Can it? What can it hurt to give it a shot? Girls always fall for Trevor, and in the end, he always ends up looking like a bad-boy cad. Still, spending some time with Haley and her smart-talki

Raphael

Leave it to Tillie Cole to make me feel so uncomfortable for liking a book. Most of her books deal with hard subjects. They make you feel bad for liking certain characters, and she makes unconventional people the hero of her books.  "They are the Fallen. A brotherhood of murderers whose nature compels them to kill. But guided by their leader, Gabriel, the Fallen have learned to use their urges to rid the world of those it is better off without. For Raphael, sex and death are intertwined. Where there is one, there must be the other. He is a lust killer, luring his victims with the face of an angel and a body built for sin. And Raphael lives to sin. His newest mission takes him to the sadistic underworld of Boston's secret sex clubs, and puts him face to face with his greatest fantasy made flesh. Maria is everything he's ever dreamed of, the kill he's always longed for. She's not his target. And he knows he must resist. But the temptation is too strong..Yet Rap

I initially found this book because book 2 in the series is getting a lot of hype on Instagram. Now these books can be read as standalones, but if you want the full effect and to understand the characters it's always best to just read them in order, so when I bought book 2 I decided to buy book 1 also. I've had Adriana Locke on my to-read shelf for a while, but I've never taken the plunge. I felt like this was a solid book to start with. I really enjoyed it, and it was an easy read.  "After being burned by her dream job in New York City, sports journalist Neely Kimber suddenly finds herself jobless and paying a long-overdue visit to her hometown in Tennessee. Her plan? Relax, reset, and head back up the corporate ladder. There's just one unexpected step. Neely's back in Dogwood Lane for barely a day when she sees the man she ran from nine years ago: the bad boy next door who was her first kiss, her first love, and her first..heartbreak. Devoted single da

One Little Lie

Image
I did not even read the blurb for this book before I downloaded it. I downloaded it solely based off the cover. The cover is beautiful, it was intriguing, and I didn't care what the book was about I just wanted to read it. I loved this story. This just goes to show you that sometimes you can pick a book based off the cover.  "Adam Oliver hated me. Loathed my very existence. He had every right to, but that didn't make my life any easier the afternoon I had to rescue him on the side of the road. But worse than rescuing a guy who hated me to his core was the lie I told my parents. Because I'd just told them that my long-term boyfriend was finally back in town. My long-term boyfriend who didn't actually exist. The one named Adam Oliver- the guy I'd crushed on all through high school. So the real Adam had no idea that he and I were engaged in a years-long, committed, serious relationship. And, somehow, some way, I needed convice him to play along with my one l
