 Jonas Schwartz isn't just good at playing football. He's also good at playing hearts and four years ago, he played mine like it was the easiest game of his life. 

 Brokenhearted, I ran off to art school, swearing to forget about my one-off secret weekend with the star quarterback.

 I'd heard whispers about his injury, but I never expected Jonas to return to our hometown to rehab his knee, and I certainly never thought he'd show up on the other side of my door with a pizza in hand.

 He looks good. Better than before.

Whatever--I'm over him. 

 I've completely moved on.

 I just wish my heart would get the memo...

I'm a Missouri-raised gal, but currently live in North Carolina with my US Marine husband and 9-year-old dog. I spend my days begging him for a cat, and I survive off coffee, pizza, and sarcasm. A Slice of Love is a novella by Teagan Hunter, and it's available everywhere! 

I have yet to find a Teagan Hunter book that I don't love. She is one of my go- to authors when I want a read that's going to make me feel good and laugh out loud. She never disappoints. 

I loved Frankie & Jonas. They were perfect. Frankie was this timid and shy girl in high school, and she turned into a woman that stood up for herself and she really came out of her shell. In the brief glimpse into their high school days, I didn't get the vibe that Jonas was your typical jock. He was beloved in their town, but it didn't seem like he let it go to his head. He was crazy about Frankie even though she found that hard to believe. 

"Are you kidding me, Frank?" You were all I saw. 

Their banter was some of my favorite parts of the story. Teagan does such a great job with that. Another thing I love about Teagan and her books is that her supporting characters are always just as fantastic as the leading characters. 

I loved that even though this was a novella it didn't feel that way. I wasn't left wanting more, and it had everything a full blown novel has. You won't be disappointed if you pick this up, or any book from Teagan for that matter. 

Overall, I'm giving this one 5 STARS. Teagan is a typical 5 STAR author for me, and I always recommend her if you're looking for a book to make you laugh out loud and feel good.

Love didn't make people feel hate.  If you follow my blogs then you know that a couple weeks ago I mad a post with reviews from books 1-4 of the Off Balance series by Lucia Franco. I was lucky enough to receive an ARC copy of book number 5, Dismount.  This series is controversial for some. There are people that don't like the content. There are people that don't agree with the theme. These people basically verbally attack Lucia over writing from her heart. That's not right. Have you ever heard the saying "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all?" Well I used this phrase.."If you don't like what a books about, don't read it." What's Left of Me

"When someone pushes you away, you need to find the strength to hold on tighter."   I've read a lot of books. Hundreds of them, maybe even more. There have been two books that have stood out to me, two books that I still think about today, It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover and Long Shot by Kennedy Ryan . After today, I'm adding a third to that list.  Have you ever read a book that just worked it's way into your soul? One that makes you feel so much it's like the author reached inside and pulled something out of you that you didn't even know was there? If you haven't, then you aren't reading the right books.
