My Favorite Books of 2018

I love the holidays, but i'm so glad their over! The stress is done, and now I can kick back and read! I'm in the middle of two books right now, but I'm not ready for another review, so I thought I could do a fun little blog and let you all know what my top 10 favorite books of 2018 were. Now I have been known to read a book well after it was published, and fall in love with it. Some of these books may be new releases from this year, or they may be from a previous year. I just love to read. No book is too old for me to pick up and dive in! These books are in NO particular order, I just logged into Goodreads, glanced at my read list and wrote down my favorites from this year!

                                                    Verity by Colleen Hoover

I don't know what kind of books you enjoy, but if you enjoy being EXTREMELY creeped out, very confused, and finishing a book not liking any of the characters than this is the book for you. You can't really say too much about this book without giving away a lot of the plot, but I can say that I trusted NO ONE in this book. They were all bat shit crazy, but I read this book in about a day because I was dying to know what was going to happen. By the time I read the last few pages I wasn't sure who I was supposed to trust, what actually happened, and I also wondered if there was something wrong with Colleen Hoover herself for coming up with some of the crazy ass shit that happened in this book.

To be very vague with you the story is about a struggling author, Lowen, who is offered pretty much the opportunity of her life to be a ghost write for a bestselling author, Verity. The offer is given to her by Verity's husband Jeremy, who is pretty vague as to why Verity is unable to finish her bestselling series of books. When Lowen arrives at their home she uncovers all sorts of crazy things happening in the house, and the rest I won't even say because i'm not even sure you would believe me anyway.

I am a HUGE fan of Hoover. I have yet to find a book of hers that I don't love, and this was no exception. If you haven't read anything by her you are seriously missing out. This is definitely different than what she usually writes, but it's just as good.

                                                           Suit by BB Easton

BB Easton is an amazing writer. She is also a pretty kick ass person. I follow her on Facebook and she is very involved with her followers! Suit is the 4th and final book in her 44 Chapters about 4 Men series, and it's amazing. This series is a must read book series. It is raunchy, hilarious, and hands down some amazing writing.

Suit is the fifth book in the series. If you want to read these, you need to start with 44 Chapters about 4 Men followed by Skin, Speed, Star and then finally Suit. These all can be read as stand alone, but I highly recommend reading them all. They are pretty fantastic. These are partially true stories about the author and her ex boyfriends. Suit is the final book, and it is about her husband Ken. Ken is unlike any of her previous boyfriends, and he is the guy she never knew she needed. She finally ditches the "bad boy" and finds her happily ever after. I love this book because if you have read the previous books then you are definitely rooting for BB to get her happily ever after.

BB is a fantastic book character, and what makes her even better is that she is an actual person. She is so relatable, awkward, and hilarious. These books are pretty dirty so you have been warned!

On The Way To You by Kandi Steiner

I have read many of Kandi's books all of which have been 5 star reads for me, but this book is my favorite. Her books have a way of pulling you in, twisting all of your emotions, taking you on a roller coaster ride, and then spiting you back out to pick up the pieces.

Cooper has a plan when you meet her in the beginning of the book. She works hard, saves money, and is trying to get her butt out of her small town. She meets Emery in the diner that she works at and he asks her "What makes you happy?" She can't come up with an answer, he randomly asks her to drive across the country with him, and at the last minute she jumps at the chance.

“I want that kind of love that leaves you breathless when it hits you, and makes you want to throw up at the thought of losing it. The kind that makes you so happy that it hurts at the same time, like it’s painful to think that out of all the people in the world, you somehow found the one meant for you.”

This is a romance book, but it's not just a romance book. Cooper and Emery have a lot to learn about themselves and life, and their journey together helps make that happen. Sometimes they struggled in finding themselves, and finding love with one another, and you are rooting for them until the very end. This one will definitely pull at your heartstrings.

"And in my heart, I knew the odds were against us — that we might be able to start a happy ever after, but our chances of finishing it were slim.I turned the page, anyway."

When Our Worlds Go Silent by Lindsey Iler

I LOVE Lindsey. She helped me get the courage to start my blog, she allowed me to be a part of my FIRST ever ARC review team. We chat all the time through facebook posts and sometimes messages, and she is a fantastic writer. The Our Worlds series is amazing. The whole series is a must read and the fourth book was a great way to wrap it all up.

You really need to read the other books to know what is going on and to fall in love with the characters like I have. Graham and Kennedy had a long hard road in front of them to get to where they are in this book. I can't really dive into what happens in this book because I do not want to ruin the series for you. But take my advice and read the other books in this series. You will NOT be disappointed. The emotional rollercoaster these two take you on is heartbreaking but so beautiful, and so worth the chance!

"“Don’t be someone who gives up when the waters are murky. Be the person who dives in without knowing what waits for you at the bottom.”

Angels of Belle Meade by Lindsey Iler

Lindsey is on the list yet again. Angels of Belle Meade is a whole new ball field compared to the Our Worlds series. This one has romance, but is definitely on the supernatural side of things. I love a good supernatural book, but i'm a lover of all genres of books. Sometimes supernatural runs the risk of becoming a bit cheesy, but Lindsey did an excellent job with this one. The story had mystery, romance, and kept me on the edge of my seat. I was thrilled when I found out it was going to be a series. There is so much more I want to know and learn about this world.

Lennox was BY FAR one of my favorite book characters of all time. She was strong, she didn't put up with anybody's crap, and she went after the things she wanted. Edric was an excellent "book boyfriend" He was a little rough around the edges, but thats how I like them. No one wants to land that "perfect" guy. I also enjoyed all the side characters of the book, who really weren't side characters at all. They were all necessary for the book to flow in the way that it did.

Read all of Lindsey's books. I promise you won't be disappointed.

All Your Perfects by Colleen Hoover

Because Colleen released All Your Perfects this year I was able to FINALLY meet her. My wonderful boyfriend drove me all the way to Ohio to meet her, and it was AMAZING. I can't wait to go to another book signing, because that was everything I hoped it would be and more. I ordered this book on my Kindle and then ordered an actual copy, because well Why Not? And, no surprise, it was worth it. Colleen does it again and again. Can she do no wrong?

Quinn and Graham meet in the most unexpected way. Their love seems unstoppable, but you soon find out that all is not how it seems on the outside. They are struggling and their marriage is falling apart. I won't tell you what has lead them to this point because that would be a major spoiler, but it is heartbreaking. This book will just rip your heart out. The point of view switches between when their love first started, and the pain their going through now. Neither of them are perfect, and at times you will probably dislike them both, but you will still find yourself rooting for them to pull through. This book was amazing. Don't miss out by not reading it, it will stick around with you for a while after your finished.

A Wish For Us by Tillie Cole

If you have never read a Tillie Cole book start with A Thousand Boy Kisses, and trust me you won't be disappointed. A Wish For Us is a beautiful book, written beautifully, and just so touching. I finished the book speechless. Tillie Cole will always leave you heartbroken, so don't worry if your a sobbing mess throughout the book, that's normal.

"Her voice was violet blue. I closed my eyes. It was my favorite color to hear."

This book will give you all the feels for sure. Bonnie and Cromwell have a unique love story, that centers around music. Their story is beautiful and sad, but it is well worth your time. Cromwell is like a diamond in the rough, and Bonnie is the light he needs to show him the way. The book is devastatingly sad, and it will really make you question if it was a good idea starting it in the first place. But trust me when I say that this is one of the most beautiful love stories I have ever read. I don't often revisit books, but this is one that I will definitely return to soon.

                                                           Star by BB Easton

As I said before the 44 Chapters series by BB Easton is flipping amazing! This is book three in the series, and it is HOT HOT HOT

BB takes a walk on the wild side when she dates her own personal rock star. Hans is definitely a heart breaker. Described as sexy and a gentleman he seems like the perfect catch. He takes BB on a wild ride, and he seems as if he might be the one. Turns out he is just the one before the RIGHT one. Hans is easy to love, and you can see why BB swooned over him, but some events in the book make you realize that while a guy can be incredibly talented and super hot that doesn't mean he is the right one for you. I loved this story, and I'll say it again..Read. This. Series.

One of Us is Lying by Karen M. McManus

When I picked this book up I didn't really know what to expect. I had been in a huge reading slump, couldn't find anything to peak my interest, and this was just the book.

This book sort of has a Breakfast Club feel. (I really love that movie.) This is like Breakfast Club with a murder mystery attached to it. The book starts off with five kids going into detention. One of them doesn't make it out, and you have to figure out what happened, and who the murderer was and why. I could not put this book down.

About halfway through I figured out what had happened, but watching the story unfold and the pieces coming together really made this a top notch read. This is different than my usual romance reads, but this was worth the jump. I loved it!

The Smallest Part by Amy Harmon

"In the end, only three things matter: How much you loved, How gently you lived, And how gracefully you let go Of things not meant for you."

I love Amy Harmon. Her books always make you feel things that you maybe didn't want to feel, but you always feel gratified after you finish one of her books.

Mercedes is a fantastic character, an underdog, but your pulling for her. She struggles in this book, struggling to figure out whats right and wrong, and what she should do. Mercedes and Noah had been the best of friends since they were eight, and then Cora came along. I actually wasn't a big fan of Cora, but as the story goes on you realize she is so depressed and you just feel sorry for her. Cora was selfish, and she didn't deserve the people she had in her life. She was incredibly lucky to have them.

"Life wasn’t about getting what you deserved. It was about enduring what you didn’t and not letting it destroy you."

"There’s always been a place in my heart that was exclusively yours. A small, private corner . . . all yours. You’ve never let me down, Mer. Never. You’re right. You have been my safe place. My constant. All my life, you’ve cultivated and cared for that little part, that little piece of me that was yours."

So there you have it, my top 10 best reads of 2018. This has been an incredible year of books for me! I am so excited to see what all these amazing authors have in store for 2019. Please Please take my advice and read these books!! These are some amazing authors, they have really brought some great stories to me this year, and I just want to share them with all of you!
