Excerpt

"Hello, Raven."
Unease washes over me, but I force my eyes back to the court, and sure as shit, amongst the crazy, Maddoc and Captain both spotted the piece of shit move my way.
"What do you want, Perkins?"
"I got a very interesting transfer slip on my desk this morning, Ms. Carver."
I freeze, and I'm pretty sure my eyes widen, because Maddoc's frown deepens, but he takes off, the ball now in his possession and I shift to see him better.
In the same second, Perkins lays his hand on my arm, and I spin, yanking away from him.
"Don't fucking touch me." I spit through my clenched teeth and a mocking laugh leaves him.
The crowd groans and when my eyes flash back to the court, Maddoc's hands are swiping down his face in frustration, the ball now with the opposing team as the final buzzer sounds.
"Thanks for all your help, Ms. Carver."
"Don't get it twisted. I'd never do a damn thing to purposely help you."
He steps down, turning back to face me as he does. "You have a good night."

This is the second book in the Brayshaw High series, and I was fortunate enough to be chosen to receive an ARC. I won an ARC in a giveaway for the first book, and you can find that review here on my blog. Before I start this review let it be known I won't give away ANY spoilers, but if you like high school angst, drama, and craziness these are the books for you. This book releases on MAY 28TH so add it to your TBR now!! And I love the covers of these books, that purple and blue is amazing together.

"You don't belong." No words whispered in anger have ever rung more true. They're the
Kings of Brayshaw with the world at their feet, destined for greatness and in need of control. I'm the girl from the ghetto with nothing to offer and as defiant as they come. They say it doesn't matter, that I'm one of them now, and nothing could ever change that. Not even me, should I dare try. But they're wrong. They underestimate how far I'll go to protect them. Trouble is coming..and they have no idea."

"If she thinks she can fuck us over, she's got another thing coming. They both do. She wants to fuck with my head? It's worked. She wants to prove a point? She's done it. She thinks I'll back down? She's fucking wrong."

"Raven Carver is mine whether she wants to be now or not. Period."

By now if you haven't read book one, and your reading this review then I can't help you. There will be book one spoilers in this review.

When book one ends...ON THAT AWFUL FREAKING CLIFFHANGER, your left wondering who Raven has went to in regards to the video that is circulating, who has this over on them, and what can she do to protect her boys. This book answers your questions pretty quickly. There were actually so many things coming at me at once that I was a bit confused at first. I was angry at Raven for what she was doing when it was so obvious to me that the boys would have wanted to be involved. But, if you've read book one then you know Raven does what she wants, when she wants, and she doesn't give a crap about how it affects anyone else. You learn to love that about it, while your hating it.

"Tested. Reacted the only way she knows how. Impulsive. Uncontrolled. Reckless. Mine."

I will say this book is packed with just as much drama and angst as the first book. It answers most of the questions that you had from book one, but it also brings many many more to the surface. I still have trouble accepting the fact that these people are like 17 years old. They have some real grown up problems. I didn't get into this one right away like I did book one, but it did pick up the pace for me around the halfway mark. Once things started really happening they never stopped, which is pretty spot on with book one.

"I'm telling you there is no one like you Raven Carver, and we all know it. We see it and feel it and that's some powerful shit, girl."

I can't go into details on this book, you NEED to read book one, and your going to NEED to read this book also. After you read both books you can sit in agony with me while we wait for book three. And I'm just gonna drop this right here, this book....ends in another cliffhanger. It ends with a shit ton of questions. It ended making me question my sanity. I'm in too deep now, there is no turning back, and I'm with this series to the end.

Overall, I'm giving this book 5 STARS. While I wasn’t as invested as quickly as I was with book one, I still wasn’t disappointed. I was pleased with most of my questions being answered pretty much right off the bat, but I'm frustrated with the 10 million more questions I have now that this one is over. I liked that it still had that Brayshaw drama and angst, and I liked that the characters were still as sassy and bad ass as they were in book one.

"I told you," I whisper. "I told you not to try and keep me." He drops his lips to mine, and his eyes close. "Too late, baby." He kisses me, pushing his knee between my legs. "Way too fucking late."
