Hating The Boss

The ring thief might not have stolen the ring after all, but she did steal my heart.

"One Night. That's all it was supposed to be. Imagine my surprise when Mr. Sexy in a Suit breezed through the door on the first day of school. Ladies and gentlemen, meet my new boss. Not only does he instantly recognize me, but he accuses me of stealing something valuable from him the morning I walk-of-shamed out of his apartment. When bullying me into a confession doesn't work, he turns my life into a living nightmare- as if that will coax me into returning what I supposedly stole. But this is my school, and the only thing I'll be returning is payback. Game. On. There's only one problem. I wanted him before I hated him, and even now, a part of me still wants him. Somehow, through all of our fighting, through the anger and the pranks, I think I'm falling in love with the enemy."

I received an ARC of this book from the author, in exchange for my honest review! Hating The Boss releases everywhere on September 30th!

Lately, I have really been a huge fan of the rom-com book! When Kristen announced she was writing one, I was so excited! The two ARC's I read before this one were angsty, and made me cry, so I was ready for something funny, and this did not disappoint!

It's like I have whore amnesia!

Raegan was such a great character. I actually found her really relatable, I've been through a divorce before, and had an ex just like her. I loved watching her come out of her shell and start standing up for herself! It's always so refreshing to have a female lead that can hold her own. I also thought she had a great support system. Her friends were hilarious and I loved her mom and grandma! She had a lot of people in her corner, and I loved that she didn't have to go through anything alone.

I'd like to tell you I didn't watch her hips saw as she walked away from me, but I can't..because I did. I need psychiatric counseling.

Jaxon was fantastic. I could tell right away that he didn't really suspect that Raegan stole his ring, but his dad was kind of pressuring him to believe that. I thought it was hilarious that even though he had a suspicion that she did, he still couldn't help being attracted to her. Not to mention he was such a nice guy, he had a hard time being angry with her, and being mean to her. He was so sweet and kind, even Raegan found herself feeling like she was being fooled by him, but he truly was just a good guy. I loved that this wasn't just another guy in a book that was a man whore.

The pranks these two pulled on each other had me laughing out loud. I actually forgot that there was a whole mystery over who stole this ring going on, because I was so wrapped up on what these two were going to do next. While they liked to make everyone think they hated each other, it was obvious the sexual tension was brewing between the two of them.

Kristen really delivered on a super steamy and hilarious romantic comedy. I just have to say that office scene..HOLY MOLY, I needed a fan to cool me off after that one! All books need a sexy office scene like that!

Overall, I'm giving this one 5 STARS. This book was JUST what I needed after my last couple reads. It had just the right amount of humor, and steaminess. It was the perfect recipe for a great romantic comedy! I hope Kristen writes some more books like this, she really has a talent for it!
